HYDERABAD: A convicted prisoner of the Hyderabad central jail died of cardiac arrest at the Liaquat University Hospital (LUH) Hyderabad in the early hours of Tuesday, an official said.

Jail Superintendent Ziaur Rehman said Mir Nazimuddin, 63, son of Allah Bux Talpur, complained of severe chest pain at around 3am and he was hurriedly shifted from the jail hospital to the LUH where he died of heart attack at around 5am.

The officer said he had been jailed for life and had been serving since 2013 in the central jail. Before that he was in the Sanghar district jail since 2004 .

He said the prisoner had killed his nephew and a case was registered under Section 302 (premeditated murder) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
