DACCA: The intrusion into Pakistani territory by the Indian nationals along with deadly weapons and their harassment of Pakistani nationals continues unabated along the East Pakistan-West Bengal borders. The East Pakistan Government is understood to have lodged a protest with the West Bengal Government against such activities of the Indian nationals and demanded exemplary punishment for the culprits.

According to information available here today [June 9], one Pakistan national Ebadat Ali Mondal along with another Pakistan national of village Singnagar, P.S. Jibnnagar, district Kushtia, were ploughing their land in Pakistan territory near the border on May 25 when a large number of Indian nationals of ... district Nadia armed with deadly weapons, trespassed into Pakistan territory and demanded from the above Pakistan nationals their bullocks with which they were ploughing their land. Pakistan nationals Ismail Biswas, Majam Bari and some others, who had been worl(ing in the nearby field, hurriedly came to the spot and protested against the highhanded action ofthe Indian trespassers.

A scuffle then started between the Pakistan nationals and the Indian trespassers when the Pakistani nationals somehow managed to drive away the bullocks towards their village. Having thus failed in their attempt to take away the bullocks the Indian nationals assaulted the Pakistan nationals causing serious injury to their persons.

On hearing the hue and cry raised by them, other villagers rushed to the place of occurrence and the Indian intruders retreated to India.
