Arms, ammunition recovered in Bajaur

KHAR: Security forces on Sunday claimed to have seized a huge cache of weapons, ammunition and explosives during an operation in Mamond tehsil of Bajaur Agency.
According to a statement issued by Bajaur Scouts in Khar, the weapons and explosives were recovered from the mountainous Gat Agra area, some 20km northwest of here late on Saturday evening.
The statement said that the search operation was carried out by the personnel of Bajaur Scoutsupon receiving information about the presence of different kinds of explosives and ammunition there.
The seizure included eight remote controlled bombs, seven kg explosives, eight hand grenades, 144 rounds of submachine gun, two IEDs, one anti-personnel mine, 38 metre safety fuse cable, three dry batteries, five DC conductors, one silencer of short machine gun, one pistol along with several rounds and one RPG fuse.
The statement said that five antenna of Walkie-Talkie, one handy cam, one video player, two pistol covers, one army cap, 20metres copper wire, six books on explosives and a number of bomb making materials were also seized in the raid.
The statement said that the action in the area was a part of the Raddul Fassad operation to rid the agency of miscreants and all types of destructive weapons and arms.
It said that durable peace and normalcy would return to the agency after complete elimination of anti-state elements in the region.
It was stated that forces and the local people were on the same page to 1(eep exemplary peace in the agency.
