Students briefed on road safety rules

SWABI: Speakers at a seminar on Wednesday briefed schoolchildren about traffic rules and asked them to also guide other people to observe these rules for ensuring their safety onroads.

District`s chief traffic official Janab Ali Khan was the main speaker at the event attended by the students and teachers of various public and private educational institutions.

This was the first such attempt here in the district to educate the youngsters on traffic rules.

The parents were asked to monitor activities of their children and help the police in making the society crimefree. The traffic rule books were also distributed among the teenage students and they were advised to read and adopt the given principles.

Mr Khan said that doing wheelies was prohibited across the district and if the parents knew about indulgence of their children in such activities they should take immediate steps to stop them from such practices.

Meanwhile, PML-N district president Iftikhar Ahmad Khan claimed on Wednesday that the homecoming rally of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif showed that their leader still enjoyed a respectable position in the country`s politics.

He was speaking before departure from the district of the party workers to join Mr Sharif`s rally in Islamabad. He said that they would continue to work for strengthening of democratic order in the country.

SUMMER CLASSES: The ongoing summer classes in the government schools here are proving helpful for the students to acquire knowledge, said officials.

They said that the objective of the summer camp was to prepare the students for working hard to excel in the board examinations and get admission in good colleges.

The officials urged the teachers to work with the parents to prepare the students for facing future challenges.
