SWABI: About 160 teachers have been promoted to Secondary School Teacher (SST) posts from different senior cadres of the teachers, sources in education department told Dawn here on Sunday.

They said that the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government had fulfilled another pledge that all the vacant posts in government schools of the province would be filled.

Anwar Haq Dad, PTI`s district president, told this correspondent that SSTs played an important role in imparting quality education to students. He hoped that these teachers would deliver according to the expectations of the people and government.

Meanwhile, All Teachers Association has welcomed the promotion of the teachers, hoping that the provincial government would also resolve their other problems.
