BVH `finds` nine more with forged job letters

BAHAWALPUR: The Bahawal Victoria Hospital (BVH) administration has suspected nine more employees of securing job through forged appointment letters, it is learnt.

Earlier, the BVH had identified 41 lower cadre staffers who got themselves inducted into the hospital through fake appointment letters during the previous years.

They along with their five facilitators (employees) were removed from service.

Medical superintendent`s private secretary Imanat Ali is one of the facilitators who managed fake letters.

BVH Medical Superintendent Rao Javed Akhtar told Dawn on Wednesday that he had sent service record of the sacked staffers to the Punjab health department for scrutiny after they appealed to the department to review their cases.`We will complete inquiry into nine cases after receiving the record from the department. We also have decided to scrutinise the entire service record of all the employees appointed during 2012-16.

TROPHY HUNTING: As many as 22 deer have so far been hunted in Cholistan.

The trophy hunting has been introduced by the Punjab wildlife department for the first time in the desert.

Wildlife department focal person/Deputy Director Aamir Masood and Houbara Foundation chief retired Maj Tahir, a co-organiser, told Dawn on Wednesday that the hunt included 16 Chinkara deer and six black bucks.

Masood said so far 15 home hunters -14 from Punjab and one from Karachi -participated in the trophy hunting while the arrival of more hunters was expected.

The event will continue till Dec 15.
