PESHAWAR, Dec 9: The internally displaced persons of Khyber Agency on Monday blocked road outside Peshawar Press Club against non-availability of basic facilities at Jalozai camp.

Holding banners and placards inscribed with demands for solution to their problems, they also shouted slogans. Speaking on the occasion, Iqbal Afridi said people were living in extremely unhygienic conditions and that if immediate steps were not taken the people would fall ill.

Besides, he said water supply was next to nil as the people had to fetch it from far away areas, adding that medical treatment and education facilities to children were also not available.

Mr Afridi urged the federal government to take effective steps for the rehabilitation of tribal people.-Bureau Report
