GHALANAI: Security forces on Wednesday defused an improvised explosive device near Mian Mandi bazaar in Haleemzai tehsil of Mohmand Agency here.

The bomb disposal unit personnel rushed to the spot after the local residents informed the security forces about the presence of IED in the area, and safely defused the explosive device. The security forces also conducted a search operation in Mian Mandi and adjoining areas but no arrest was made so far.

Meanwhile, teachers continued their protest on the third consecutive day on Wednesday, shutting all the schools in the tribal agency.

The protesting teachers staged a rally from Mohmand Press Club to Ghalanai Bazaar. The participants chanting slogans demanded upgradation of tribal teachers on the pattern of their counterparts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
