Four injured in Peshawar blast

PESHAWAR: Four people, including two children, were wounded when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off near a police post at Dir Town on Dalazak Road in Peshawar on Thursday evening.

An official of Chamkani police station said that the bomb was planted near a police post which caused injuries to four people.

He said that the two children, who sustained injuries, were playing in a nearby street. The injured were taken to the Lady Reading Hospital.

Another official said that house of MPA Saeed Gul was located in the area though it was not clear what was the target of the blast, which damaged the nearby houses and disrupted power supply. A hospital source said that condition of the injured persons was stable.

Meanwhile, decomposed body of an unidentified woman, said to be around 30 years of age and wearing red clothes, was recovered from agriculture fields in Chamkani area. An official said that the body carried signs of violence and its face was also damaged.

Separate Cases of both the incidents have been registered at the Chamkani police station.
