Three proclaimed offenders arrested in Lakki action

LAKKI MARWAT: Police arrested three proclaimed offenders, including a runaway prisoner of DI Khan jail, in separate actions here on Thursday.

A police official said that following a tip-off a party of Shaheed Asmatullah Khan Khattak police station of Naurang town raided a hideout in Takhtikhel village near the frontier tribal region and captured two outlaws identified as Jamedar and his brother Dildar. He said that an AK-47 rifle, a pistol and 35 bullets were also recovered from them. He said that the law enforcers and commandos of elite forceand anti-terror squad took part in the operation.

He said that Jamedar was sentenced to 25 years imprisonment in a murder case and had escaped from DI Khan jail in July last year during militants attack on the prison, while his brother Dildar was wanted by Lakki and Bannu police in cases of murder and attempted murder.

Separately, Lakki Marwat police arrested a proclaimed offender Mushk Alam in Khoidadkhel locality. The police said that Alam was wanted by Islamabad police in murder and kidnapping cases.

Meanwhile, a man was killed in Titterkhel village on Thursday. The complainant Amanullah told police that his son Farmanullah did not return after Isha prayer on Wednesday and the next day he was informed that the body of his son was lying at a deserted placenear Balkhi Koroona.

Mr Amanullah has nominated Waqar, his father Shafiullah and uncle Sher Alam in the FIR for the murder of his son. Police have started investigation into the case.

SCHOOL FUNCTION: A prize distribution ceremony was held at the government primary school, Nar Azad Chandukhel, here on Thursday.

An official of elementary and secondary education department Ikramullah Khan was the chief guest on the occasion and said that the primary schools should provide opportunities to students to take part in extra-curricular activities.

He said that funds for repair of classrooms and enough teachers would be provided to the schools.

The school`s principal, Gul Badshah, said that despite meagre facilities the teachers had been imparting quality education to students.
