Arms cache seized in Clifton

KARACHI: A huge quantity of arms and ammunition was seized in the old Clifton area on Thursday.

Acting on a tip-off, the police recovered arms cache from a garbage dump near the PTCL exchange in the Old Clifton area, said Karachi-South SSP Saqib Ismail Memon.

The ofnceradded thatthe seized arms included 23 different types of rifles and four pistols.

Besides, thousands of bullets were also recovered.

The Boat Basin police have registered an FIR against unidentified suspects on behalf of the state under the Sindh Arms Act and Section 7 of the AntiTerrorism Act of 1997.

Meanwhile, Sindh Police IG A.D. Khowaja called on Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah at CM House and presented him a report on the recovery of arms.

The chief minister, who is also in-charge home minister, directed the provincial police chief to investigate the matter.
