Faiz festival to kick off from 18th

LAHORE: The second three-day Faiz International Festival will be held at the Alhamra Arts Council, The Mall, from Nov 18 to 20.

Faiz Foundation executive director Ata Muhammad Khan gave details of the festival during a press conference at Alhamra here on Thursday. He was flanked by Salima Hashmi, Muniza Hashmi and Adeel Hashmi.

The festival will be an amalgam of event s on art, culture, politics and social issues.

Panel discussions, music and theatre performances, book launches, lectures, poetry, theatrical readings, photographic and art exhibitions, visual art and story writing competitions, workshops on dance, theatre and filmmaking will be part of it.

Delegates and performers will travel from across Pakistan and abroad to attend the event. It would include sessions with stalwarts like Munnu Bhai, Kishwar Naheed, Mustansar Husain Tarar, Asif Farrukhi, AmjadIslamAmjad,Iftikhar Arif, Anwar Masood and Asghar Nadeem Syed.

Free performances include a play by Ajoka, classical Eastern music performance by the Tarz Orchestra, a play on Heer by the Sangat Theatre Group, dramatic readings by Zambeel, classical musical night with Ustad Hamid Ali Khan, children folk music performance by Lok Virsa and poetry reading by Adeel Hashmi.
