PTl in a fix over no-trust move against JI nazim

By Our Correspondent 2017-02-12
ABBOTTABAD: A five-member committee comprising representatives of Abbottabad tehsil council was formed on Saturday to chalk out a strategy to tackle with a no-trust move filed by the 39 members against the tehsil naib nazim Sardar Shuja Ahmed of JI.

The decision was taken at a joint meeting of PTl office-bearers and tehsil councillors.

It may be recalled that the no-trust move was filed by the PTl and opposition members of PML-N a few days back and Feb 14 was fixed for discussion and a final roll call which would be done through show of hands.

The committee has been tasked with either recommending withdrawal of the no-trust move or impeachment of the naib nazim, against whom allegations of corruption have been leveled by the council members.

However, it was learnt that PML-N and PTl office-bearers, including sitting ministers and elected representatives, are in a fix on the fate of the resolution moved against naib nazim as it will also affect the PTI-JI alliance.

Meanwhile, Dr Azhar Sher Kheli has been appointed as pro Vice-Chancellor of Abbottabad University of Science and Technology.

A notification to this effect was issued the other day. Dr Kheli, who also remained registrar of Hazara University, is well-known for his research works in the field of pharmaceuticals.

He has done his PhD from Germany and has published countless papers in renowned international journals.
