LAKKI MARWAT: Unidentified armed men kidnapped a government official near the Indus Highway in limits of Tajori police station here on Saturday.

An official source said deputy director education, Fata, Mohibullah along with his son Abdul Wali was coming from Peshawar in a car when three unknown men, believed to be kidnappers, intercepted his vehicle.

“The kidnappers tortured Abdul Wali and took away his father Mohibullah,” he maintained.

A police official said soon after the incident a contingent of law enforcers reached the place and launched a search operation in the adjacent localities. He said roads leading to frontier tribal regions had been sealed to foil any possible bid by kidnappers to shift the abducted official to the tribal area.

Meanwhile, police arrested two outlaws in Tajazai while an alleged kidnapper surrendered to police in Naurang town on Saturday.

An official said Ghaznikhel police raided a suspected hideout in Tajazai village and arrested two wanted criminals -- Azizullah and Zakirullah. They were wanted by police in cases of attempted murder, he added.

The official said another outlaw, Naqeebullah, wanted by police in a kidnapping case surrendered before SHO Javed Khan in Shaheed Asmatullah Khan Khattak police station.
