KARACHI: Former home minister Dr Zulfikar Mirza, who is already facing three terrorism cases registered against him for allegedly storming the office of a police officer and enforcing a shutterdown in Badin on May 3, was booked in another case here on Monday.

An official at the Aram Bagh police station told Dawn that the case was registered over the weele end on the complaint of SHO Alam Dahiri.

The ofñcer appeared reluctant to share contents of the complaint.

However, a source told Dawn that the case pertained to the May 9 appearance of Dr Mirza in an antiterrorism court in the metropolis.

Dr Mirza was charged with forcibly climbing onto an armoured personnel carrier of police to deliver a speech and threatening police officers.

Meanwhile, the former lawmaker in a statement to the media claimed on Monday that the Sindh High Court had recently issued a directive to the police not to register any case against him without the court`s approval.

Dr Mirza believed that by lodging another case against him, the police had committed contempt of court.
