PTI to win next polls on basis of performance, says Khattak

SWABI: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak said here on Thursday that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf would win the next general elections on the basis of its performance and again form government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He claimed that they had conducted a survey in all the 25 districts of the province in this regard which proved their claim.

Mr Khattak was addressing a gathering organised for political activist Fazal Wadood Khan, who announced to join Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, here at Kalabat village.

`We will achieve a thumping victory in 208 elections and defeat those leaders who have been pointing accusing fingers at PTI,` the chief minister said. He alleged that during rule of the rival political pardes the health and education sectors badly suffered and corruption was rampant while there was no merit in appointments and transfers.

Mr Khattak claimed that the PTI-led government had brought revolutionary changes in many sectors and contributed much more than the 70 years` contribution of other political parties. He said that had the rival political parties worked for the people`s welfare there would have been development in every sector in the province.

He said that leaders of various political parties had started joining PTI due to its result-oriented policies and bright future. `We need honest leaders and workers who would fulfil the party`sagenda,` he said.

He said that the government introduced result-oriented reforms in the province. He claimed that as a result of changes in the system the brain drain had been reversed and the highly skilled and educated people were now coming back to the province. The government appreciates the spirit of people to play their role in the progress of the province, he added.

About the health and education sector reforms, he said that when PTI assumed power these two sectors were on top of its agenda and they were happy that the pledges made with the people during last general election had been fulfilled.

The chief minister said that they had taken numerous steps for strengthening the institutions, using the resources for the public welfare and eradicating the menace of corruption.

KP Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser said PTI would emerge victorious in next elections because they had delivered in the province according to expectations of the people.

`All the development projects initiated in Swabi district would be completed before end of the government`s tenure,` he added.

Provincial health minister Shahram Khan said that they had increased the number of doctors in public sector hospitals from 2,300 to 6,500.
