LAHORE: A young tailor allegedly committed suicide shortly after killing a girl over a marriage dispute in Nawab Town on Thursday.

Initial police inquiries said Zulfiqar Ali was running a shop in a local market and used to visit the house of the deceased girl (S) to train her in tailoring.

Zulfiqar fell in love with her, the police said adding that on Thursday he visited the girl`s house to convince her parents.

On refusal, police said, Zulfiqar first killed the girl and then shot himself in his temple.

Police took into custody the pistol used in the crime and shif ted the bodies for autopsy.

Police said a case would be registered after getting postmortem reports. Staff Reporter
