Six burnt in cylinder blast

ISLAMABAD: Six people sustained burn injuries in a gas cylinder explosion in Bari Imam and were shifted to the burn centre of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) on Monday.

Pims Administrator Dr Altaf Hussain informed mediapersons that ñve of the injured were in a critical condition. However, a nine-year old girl, Zainab, was out of danger with 25pc burn injuries.

According to a list issued by the hospital, Umar Shazad, 15 years, sustained 100pc burn injuries, Mohammad Arif (65) 85pc, Mohammad Zain (14), 65pc, Mohammad Nawaz (35), 55pc and 28-yearold Isran Ikram 50pc burn injuries.

Patients having over 50pc burn injuries are considered very serious, a doctor of the hospital added.
