Boys secure first two positions in HSSC-II exams

RAWALPINDI: Boys secured the first two positions in the annual exams for the higher secondary school certificate-II (HSSC-II).

The last time the first position in an HSSC-II exam was secured by a male student was in 2013. That year, the second position was secured by a girl and the third by a boy as well.

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi announced the names of top position holders on Monday.

The full result will be announced on Tuesday during a ceremony at the Government Vigarun Nisa Postgraduate College for Women.

The pass percentage this year was 54.0pc.

Hamza Mahtab of Cadet College Hassanabdal came first in the board with 1041 marl(s and Mushtaq Hussein from the Government Postgraduate College Chakwal came in second with 1037 marl(s. Bisma Sajid from the Punjab College for Women, Satellite Town came third with 1034 marks.

In the commerce group, Sidra Jabeen from the Punjab College for Women, Satellite Town came first with 962 marks and Bisma Khan of the same college came second with 951 marks. Amina Tahir from the Punjab College for Women, GT Road Gujar Khan secured the third position with 944 marks.

In the general science group, Nimra Riaz from the ST EPS College for Girls Satellite Town came first with 1024 marks and Areeba Nasir from the Punjab College for Women Satellite Town came second with 1018. The third position was secured by Safina Almas from Punjab College for Women Chakwal with 1004 marks.

In the humanities group, Huma Uroosa from the Government College for Women in Gujar Khan came first by attaining 963 marks and Ansa Bibi who is a private student from Attock came second with 921 marks.

The third position was secured by Memoona Zafar of the Dukhtran-i-Islam College for Women in Rawalpindi with 919 marks.
