83 dengue cases detected in Mardan

MARDAN: At least 83 patients were confirmed as dengue positive by officials of the Mardan Medical Complex and District Health Office here on Tuesday.

Giving details, Mardan Medical Complex medical director Dr Ameer Khan said that they had confirmed 33 people with dengue virus who were brought to the health facility in the last few days.

He said that the DHO office, Mardan, also confirmed 50 dengue patients when medical staffs of the district headquarter hospital and other various hospitals, basic health units and rural health centers located in different parts of the district sent their reports regarding dengue situation.

Dr Ameer said that they had admitted 19 dengue patients in the Mardan Medical Complex while rest of 14 patients had been discharged after providing necessary treatment to them.

He said that they had set a fever-clinic at the casualty ward in which tests of suspected dengue patients were carried out free of cost.

`We have also allocated separate ward in the hospital for dengue-affected patients,` he said.

He said that the dengue patients belonged to areas, including Shergar, Hatyaan, Lundkhwar, Katlang and Par Hoti.
