USAID provides Rs20m for upgrading school

GUJRAT: Jhelum DCO Zulfiqar Ahmed Ghumman on Wednesday laid the foundation stone of upgrading a government girls school in a remote Pall Mirza village, Sohawa tehsil.

New classrooms, equipment, science and computer labs will be constructed with Rs20 million funds being provided by the USAID. The MariPetroleum Company Limited will partially share the funding.

The DCO said the main objective of the project was to provide best education facilities to girl students of remote areas.

He said that 380 girls came from remote areas to attend the school whose classrooms were in dilapidation condition.

He said the USIAD would also train the school teachers.
