Irrigation, road repair schemes

LAHORE: The Punjab Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) on Friday approved five development schemes for irrigation and road repair with an estimated cost of Rs9.3 billion.

The schemes were approved in the 29th meeting of PDWP of the current fiscal year presided over by Punjab Planning and Development (P&D) Board Chairman Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan.

According to the P&D department spokesman, the approved development schemes are remodelling and extension of Tayyab Drain (revised) at Rs1.3 billion; feasibility study for construction of Kas Umar Khan Canal System (detailed engineering designs project preparation) PC-II at Rs123 million; project preparation for Punjab Irrigated Agriculture Investment Programme(PC-II)(revised)atRs1.2billion;channelisation of Nullah Deg (land acquisition Punjab component) at Rs3.4 billion; and widening and improvement of Sheikhupura main road at Rs3.2 billion.
