KOHAT: The anti-corruption department, Kohat, arrested district education officer (male), Gohar Rehman, and his front man red-handed while taking bribe from two people, from their of fice in the KDA town here on Friday.

Sources said that Amin and Abdul Jalil had lodged a complaint with the anti-corruption office that an official of district education office, Fazalur Rehman, was demanding Rs90,000 each for appointment of their sons. They said that he had told them that he (Fazal) had been asked by the DEO to take fixed amount from them against appointments.

The anti-corruption department officials accompanied by magistrate Mansoor Ali Khan raided the of fice and arrested Fazalur Rehman when he was receiving the money. Later, the DEO was also arrested being a co-accused following the statement of Fazal.

Officials said that the bribe money of Rs180,000 was also recovered from the of fice. Correspondent
