PESHAWAR: A minor blast took place at a scrap depot in Khalid Bin Waleed Colony here on Saturday evening. However, no one was hurt in the explosion, said an official of Fagirabad police station.
The official said the warehouse was owned by Jan Khan, adding that no evidence of explosives being used in the blast was found by the bomb disposal unit men. However, he said efforts were being made to ascertain real cause of the blast.
A Rescue 1122 spokesman, Bilal Ahmed Faizi said the explosion had also caused fire in the area, but rescuers controlled it.
Another source said theblast slightly damaged a portion of the building.
DSP SUSPENDED: Blunder in the investigation of a serious natured case led to suspension of a deputy superintendent of police here on Saturday.
According to a statement issued from the central police office, DSP special branch Hameedullah Khan failed to fulfill his professional duties during investigation of a case. The capital city police officer, Peshawar probed the matter and submitted report to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police Nasir Khan Durrani who ordered suspension of DSP. Bureau Report
