Five ‘Baloch Liberation Group’ suspects held

KARACHI: The Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, on Friday claimed to have apprehended five suspected gangsters allegedly linked with the Baloch Liberation Group.
According to the spokesperson for the paramilitary force, the Rangers carried out an action in Lyari’s Baghdadi area and arrested five suspects, namely Waleed, M. Hanif alias Annu, Shahzad, M. Zubair and Yusuf.
“The held suspects belonged to Lyari gang-war Baloch Liberation Group,” said the Rangers’ official. They were involved in targeted killings, extortion, robberies, drugs and street crimes.
Separately, the Rangers detained three suspected peddlers, Shahid Iqbal, Yusuf Khan and M. Rafiq, in the Saudabad and Ferozabad areas.
They were being handed over to police for further legal action.
Meanwhile, ‘one-wheeling’ claimed the life of a teenager in Azizabad area on Friday, according to police.
They said that 18-year-old Abdul Rehman was riding his motorbike on one wheel near Usman Memorial Hospital in Karimabad when he fell owing to overspeeding. He sustained critical injuries and was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. The bike was also badly damaged in the accident.
