ISLAMABAD: The issue of daily-wage employees of the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) seems to be have been resolved as the Ministry of Capital Administration and Development Division(CADD) on Wednesday decided to release salaries of teaching and nonteaching staff besides regularising their services.

The decision to this effect was taken in a meeting, which was presided over by Secretary CADD Khalid Hanif. It was decided that services of all teachers, who have BA/BEd will be regularised in Grade 16. The secretary directed the FDE to constitute a committee in this regard.

“We decided that all teachers – new and old - who have BA/BEd will be given grade 16,” said a participant of the meeting.

The meeting decided that regularisation cases of daily-wage employees, who are working in Grade 17 and above, will be taken up with the Federal Public Service Commission.

It was also decided that the budget for educational institutions will be released on the basis of enrolments. At present, there are around 1,000 daily-wage teaching and non-teaching staff at various educational institutions of the capital.
