GUJRAT: Girls outperformed boys in University of Gujrat (UoG) BA, BSc and B.Com (part I-II) annual examinations held in April-May 2015 here at Hafiz Hayat Campus.

A prize distribution ceremony was held at Hafiz Hayat Campus on Wednesday. The position holders along with their parents, senior educationists, deans, faculty and administrative staff of the UoG attended the ceremony.

Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Ziaul Qayyum was the chief guest.

Earlier, Controller (Examinations) Ahmad Jameel Turk announced the results.The pass percentage in BA, BSc and B.Com stood 28.68, 62.5 and 44.99.

In BSc annual exam 2015, Aisha Siddiga of Punjab College, Jalalpur Jattan, (marks 700) stood first, Kainat Bibi of Government Zamindar Postgraduate College, Bhimber Road, Gujrat, (marks 683) got second position and Iqra Kalsoom of the same college (marks 669) bagged third position.

In BA exam, Iqra Qayyam of Government I.D. Janjua College for Women, Lalamusa (marks 618) stood first, Rukhman Shaheen of Government College for Women, Kotla Arab Ali Khan, (marks 602) got second position and Ishtiaq Ahmed of Ghazali College for Boys, Phalia (marks 597) secured third position.

In B.Com, Aqsa Rani of Aisha Siddiga Girls Science College, Tanda (marks 1,045) stood first, Iqra Razag of the same college (marl(s 1,037) got second position and Rawish Zahra of Indus College of Commerce, Wah Cantt. (marks 1,027) got third position.

Chief guest Prof Qayyum congratulated the position holders and distributed prizes and certificates among them. The cash prizes of Rs25,000, Rs20,000 and Rs15,000 were presented to first, second and third position holders respectively along with certificates.

The VC said targets should be clearly identified for achieving success in life. He said UoG would provide all available facilities for improvement in college education through refresher courses.

He said the university had established a fund for financial assistance.
