Two killed on road

PESHAWAR: Two persons were killed and 18 others including women and children received injuries in two separate road accidents in the provincial capital on Wednesday.

Rescue 1122 officials said that the first accident took place on GT Road at around 3am in the morning when a vehicle coming from Chitral hit a pillar on Arbab Sikandar Khan Khalil Flyover in front of Gulbahar police station.

Rescue 1122 spokesperson Bilal Faizi said that two persons including the driver of the vehicle were killed and 10 others including two women and four children sustained injuries in the incident.

He said that the vehicle was taking a U-turn to reach to Haji Camp bus stand when it went out of the driver`s control and run over the median and hit the pillar. The injured were rushed to Lady Reading Hospital where three of them are said to be in critical condition.

In another incident, eight people including a child and six women were injured when a passenger van rammed into a pick-up truck near Jamil Chowk.-Bureau Report
