Pregnant woman found murdered in Oghi

MANSEHRA: The Oghi police recovered the bullet-riddled body of a pregnant woman in Karori area here the other day.
`We have recovered the body of a three-month pregnant woman in her early 20s and started investigation to establish her identity,` said Suleman Khan, DSP Oghi, while speaking to media men here on Sunday.
He said police rushed to the scene after local people informed them about the presence of a woman`s body there and took it in their possession and shifted it to civil hospital, Oghi, said Mr Khan.
`It would be premature to say anything about the murder at this stage,` he said, adding the mutilated body was sprayed with bullets at face and upper parts.
The official said the woman was buried at a local graveyard after nobody identified her. `So far nobody has approached us about registering the case or identification of the body,` he said.
Mr Khan said the victim wore gold ornaments which were taken into custody. `The ornaments could possibly lead us to the killers or to establish her identity,` he said.
Official sources said fingerprints of the woman were also dispatched to laboratory for analysis.
The police have registered FIR against unknown assailants.
Meanwhile, in another incident, a woman committed suicide after taking poisonous pills in Baffa area.Zaitoon Bibi, while registering FIR with police, sta-ted that in-laws of her daughter, Saniha Bibi, informed her on telephone that she had committed suicide. Ms Bibi said her daughter died in hospital.
She said that she suspected that her daughter committed suicide. The police after registering FIR began investigation.
DECISION HAILED: The Kohistan chapter of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) has thanked the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for nominating Sardar Mehtab Ahmad as the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor. They said Mehtab`s appointment as KP governor would help to restore peace in the province and the adjoining tribal area.
PML-N Kohistan chapter president, Malik Wali Khan, speaking at a press conference in Dasu, said the federal government was sincere in addressing core issues faced by the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. `That`s why a seasoned politician like Sardar Mehtab has been appointed governor of the province,` he said.
`We are optimistic that Mr Mehtab would bring everlasting peace to the province and use his influence in making the government-Taliban talks a success,` he said.
Meanwhile, a committee constituted by people of Dasu to take up the issue of electricity with the government met on Sunday to decide the future line of action.
The committee decided to remove hurdles in the way of provision of electricity not only to Dasu but also to Kundia valley. It also decided to meet Wapda high ups and district administration on April 16 in this regard.
