5-day work week in FDE institutions

2015-04-14
ISLAMABAD: The Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) on Monday restored two weekly off in the educational institutions working under the administrative control of Federal Directorate of Education (FDE).

“Now the educational institutions will observe five working days in a week,” said Khalid Hanif, Secretary CADD, while talking to Dawn.

As a part of energy conservation plan, the federal government offices have been observing two weekly holidays since May 2010. However, CADD restored Saturday as working day for all educational institutions in Islamabad on November 28, 2013 with a view to completing the course.

The teaching community has been requesting CADD to restore Saturday as weekly off along with Sunday for the last many months.

“This is a good decision. But at the same time we request CADD to pay attention towards several other important issues, such as introducing uniform education system and facilities in all educational institutions in Islamabad,” said Professor Sagheer Ahmed Mirani, President Federal Government College Teacher Associations. — A Reporter
