Five food outlets, three petrol pumps fined

ISLAMABAD: Assistant Commissioner (Shalimar) Islamabad Syed Jawad Muzaffar, during surprise inspection of food outlets in F-10 area, imposed fines worth Rs30,000 on the unhygienic food outlets. He fined five food outlets for failing to comply with food and hygiene laws and also imposed fines on the violators of Prohibition of Smoking and Protection of Non-Smokers Health Ordinance 2002.

He directed the owners of food outlets to immediately improve the hygienic conditions of their kitchens failing which stern action would be taken against the violators on next visit. He told that smoking at public places is prohibited under the law and its implementation would be ensured in letter and spirit.

Meanwhile, AC (Secretariat) Waqas Rashid, conducting inspection of petrol pumps in Bhara Kahu and Club Road imposing Rs75,000 fines on the owners of three petrol pumps on account of less measuring and faulty scales, paying less wages to the workers, inadequate fire extinguishing arrangements, and selling petrol in cans.

He directed the business owners to ensure adequate fire extinguishing and private security arrangements and keep their measuring scales in order failing which stern action would be taken against the violators. APP
