LAHORE: Position holders from various educational institutions of the country who were on a visit to European varsities under the Punjab chief minister`s programme, returned to Pakistan here on Monday.
During their monthlong visit, they visited varsities of Sweden, Germany and UK. The delegation consisted of 38 students -19-males and as many females.
Punjab e ducation minister Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan welcomed the students atthe Lahore airport.
Addressing them, the minister said the government was using all available resources for promotion of education. Punjaballocated more budget for education as compared to the other provinces, he added.
He listed government`s initiatives for encouragement of shining students includinglaptopsschemes, cash prizes, European varsities tour and endowment fund.
He said the government would also provide opportunities to toppers to get education from world`s renowned universities.
The students lauded the chief minister for providing them with an opportunity to visit European varsities.
They said it would help buildinterprovincialharmony and unity which was need of the hour.
