LAHORE: The district coordination officer on Wednesday suspended the Government Shahdara Hospital me dical superintendent from service over negligence.

He also sought a report from the district health department regarding poor management of the hospital.

DCO Muhammad Usman took action against MS Dr Junaid Shami on the complaints of patients during his surprise visit to the hospital along with the officers of the district administration.

He checked cleanliness in the wards, air conditioners, attendance of staff, medical store (pharmacy) and blood bank of the hospital.

To the DCO`s queries about the treatment facilities being provided at the hospital, the patients complained regarding poor arrangements for their treatment. The DCO also directed the health EDO to solve the patients` problems and submit a report. APP
