LAHORE: A technology startup, TransparentHands, is all set to launch on Monday a global crowdfunding platform to connect donors with patients, ensuring `complete transparency in charitable donations The platform is first of its kind in Pakistan and aims to be the most trusted funding stream for both the local and international donors for poor patients in Pakistan.

`TransparentHands is going to disrupt the donation market by bringingtransparency, direct connection and easy donation flow between donors and patients, TransparentHands CEO Rameeza Moin told Dawn on Saturday.

The first target market of the initiative is the health sector where it has brought two hospitals on board to treat the needy patients.

On the other side, it is bringing donors from all over the world to connect them directly to the patients and fund their treatments through the participating hospitals.

The hospitals diagnose the patients` disease and put together the assessed bill for operation on the web portal. The donors from all over the world are able to register and contrib-ute towards the patients assessed bill.

Contributors will get notification of their paid amount against the specific patient and receive patient`s `Thank You` message.

The donations can be paid online through credit/debit cards, SMS, online inter-bank fund transfer and deposit cash/check directly to the designated bank of TransparentHands.

`As many as 20 patients have been successfully treated through TransparentHands at Zainab Memorial Hospital and Gulab Devi Cardiology Centre, Rameeza said.

She said 10 renowned surgeons from Lahore were on the panel of TransparentHands.
