GHALANAI, Oct 13: People of Sami Khel area of Haleemzai teshil have complained about absence of teachers at the lone girls` school of the area.

Haji Sarkari Sami Khel, owner of the government primary school for girls, told Dawn that due to absence of teachers, many girls had quit education.

Other tribesmen said that they hadcomplained to the education department on numerous occasions to ensure presence of teachers at the school, but to no avail.

They accused the local administration and education department officials of not resolving their problem.

`The local administration and education department are responsible for thebad condition of the school because no official has ever visited it to check its functioning,` said a student.

The local people demanded that all basic facilities be provided to the school besides ensuring availability of teachers.
