MUZA F FA RGA R H: Muzaffargarh Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) staffers blocked the main Friday Bazaar for hours on Tuesday against a PML-N MPA for torturing their colleague in the city area.

Sources said MPA Hammad Nawaz Tipo tortured TMA official Shafgat Rasool when he with his team was removing encroachments from the Muharram procession routes on the order of the district coordination officer (DCO). On the call of resisting shopkeepers, the MPA tortured the offi-cial. Even though other TMA workers informed DCO Hafiz Shaukat Ali and ADC Usman Khalid, the DCO said he would speak to senior officials in Lahore about the incident. The ADC, however, said that the TMA would not clean the city till the MPA offered apology.

On the other hand, the MPA with his supporters, also held a sit-in on the city road against the administration, saying that the TMA insulted parliamentarians.

TMA workers demanded a case against the MPA, saying they would not clean the city areas until the police take action against the MPA.
