TAXILA: Security agencies on Tuesday seized a huge cache of arms, ammunition and explosives from a house in Hassanabdal, and detained three Afghan nationals.

Rangers in collaboration with police launched a search operation in Dhoke Maskeen area, near Gurdwara Punja Sahib, police sources said.

The operation resultedin the recoveryof a cache of arms and ammunition from a house owned by Afghan nationals.

The weapons recovered included two submachine guns, two rifles of 32 bore, one rifle of 22 bore along with 420 rounds of bullets of 32 bore rifle, 1,521 rounds of sub-machine gun, and explosives weighing around 3kg.

Security officials took into their custody three Afghans who later were shifted to a secret location for interrogation.
