Water conservancy

2016-04-15
THE people and the government are unconcerned aboutthe urgency of economising the use of water. Pakistan Water Partnership states that Pakistan has a total available surface water of about 153 million acre feet and the total ground water reserves are approximately 24 MAF of which a substantial part has been mined without allowing for natural recharge.

Currently estimated at 180m, the population is set to double in two-and-a-half decades. This means that the per capita availability of water will decrease. Not only does the government need to solve this problem, individually we all must avoid water wastage as much as we can.
