Security at sensitive places enhanced

ISLAMABAD: The capital police have enhanced security of sensitive buildings and pubhc places, police said on Friday.

Directives in this regard were issued by Inspector General of police during a meeting of senior officers of the capital police at Centre Police Of fice on Friday.

The sensitive places include metro bus route, worship places, markets and media houses.

According to police, the law enforcement agencies will monitor activities in slum areas, besides compiling data of tenants and property dealers.

The SpecialBranch ofñcers have been asked to maintain coordination with all police divisions and share important information with them for effective policing in capital.

The Islamabad Traffic Pohce ofñcers have been asked to devise a proper plan for the success of the campaign against fancy and unauthorised registration numbers.

Meanwhile, nine suspects were arrested and weapons were recovered during a search operadon conducted in the area of Noon police station, police stated.

The operation was conducted jointly by the capital police, Rangers and other security forces in Rehman Town, Jhangi Syedan and its adjacent areas. Commandos and staff of Bomb Disposal squad also participated in the operation.

During this search operation 150 houses were searched and idenddes of 200 people were verified on the spot.

Weapons including 7MM, repeaters guns, 222 rines rifle, SMGs, 30-bore pistols, carbines, and 12-bore rifles were recovered during the operation.
