Police claim busting women robbers` gang in Dir

TIMERGARA: The police claimed on Saturday to have busted a gang of women robbers and recovered stolen cash and clothes from them.

DSP Timergara circle Hidayatullah Shah and Samarbagh station house officer Ibrahim Khan also presented the group to the media at Timergara police lines.

Briefing journalists, DSP Hidayatullah said the robbers` group had been active in different areas of Samarbagh for last few months. He said two of the women robbersbelonged to Bajaur Agency and three to Peshawar who had deprived several shopkeepers of cash and other valuables. He said a police team led by SHO Ibrahim Khan busted the group.

The DSP said Rs98,000 and 12 sets of unsown clothes were recovered, adding members of the group had confessed to the crime.

He said the group members travelled daily from Peshawar to Dir and carried out its activities. He said a case had been registered against them at the Samarbagh police station and fur-ther investigation was in progress.

CNIC BLOCKED: A resident of Shewa Banda area of Miskini Darra on Saturday complained that Nadra had blocked his computerised national identity card (CNIC) declaring him as Afghan refugee.

Talking to journalists at Samarbagh, Mohammad Kamal said CNIC of his son, Saeed Gul, was also blocked. He said he belonged to Mishwani tribe and had been a resident of Shewa Banda in Miskini union council of Samarbagh.
