Balochistan education

2015-10-15
IT is worrisome that a primitive curriculum and very old syllabus are being taught in the far-flung areas of Balochistan. The deteriorating education infrastructure is ubiquitous in this province, where students are taught how to cram, where enthusiasm, curiosity and talent goinvain, and a child considers school a prison.

A teacher is one who guides, motivates, creates curiosity and moulds the future of a student. Similarly, education enables an individual to determine between myth and fact and discerns the truth from false.

Unfortunately the scenario in Khuzdar is even worse. Teachers of government schools and colleges are reactionary and not motivated enough to provide basic and compulsory education to students.

Private schools are also no better. These institutions impart education which is not purposeful and market-oriented.

They are money-making outlets, while government schools and colleges rarely make positive contributions to the uplift of the province.

We know that the earth is round and two plus two is four but education is much more.

There is a dire need for quality education in the province. The government should initiate a campaign to provide wellequipped labs, libraries, first aid and other technologies so that students have a better knowledge.
