ISLAMABAD: The National Education Policy 2016 will make it mandatory for all educational institutes to include sports in their curriculum, the state minister for federal education and professional training, Balighur Rehman, said on Wednesday.

He was addressing participants of a prize distribution ceremony at the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE).

Balighur Rehman said physical activities and sports were very important for a healthy mind and that the government was committed to providing necessary sports facilities to every school.

He congratulated the students who had performed well in school games during 2014-15 and said there were no short cuts in life. He said: “Work hard, with honesty, integrity and truthfulness”.

FBISE Chairman Dr Ikram Ali Malik also spoke on the occasion and congratulated trophy and medal winners.
