Education key to rapid progress, says CM

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch has said that education is the only way to achieve success and to face challenges in life and therefore students must pay full attention to their studies.

`Students should be well prepared to meet educational and technical challenges of the world,` the chief minister said after inaugurating the AstroTurf Football Ground at Pak-Turk International School and College on Friday.

He said Pakistan, particularly Balochistan, needed top quality education and educated people to make the province progress rapidly and that`s why his government was paying specialattention to the education sector.

Dr Baloch lauded efforts by Turkey for promotion of education in Balochistan and said the provincial government viewed these efforts with respect.

`We hope the administration of the Pak-Turk International School will further expand [network of] its educational activities to other parts of Balochistan,` he said.

The chief minister announced a Rs1 million grant for the school and college for promoting sports activities and directed authorities concerned to identify land for setting up a girls` complex.

Earlier, the chief minister was accorded a warm welcome upon his arrival at the school and briefed on various activities of the school.

AHSAN IQBAL MEETS CM: Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal called on the chief minister in Quetta on Friday.

The two discussed the political situation, pace of development, law and order and other issues relating to the province.
