KOHAT: The Kohat police foiled three attempts of smuggling hashish from tribal areas to down country and arrested eight carriers, including five tribesmen, on Saturday.

The city police asked two men to stop at the bypass road who instead started running away, but they were nabbed.

During body search, 10 kilogrammes of hashish was recovered from them.

They were identified as Naseer Khan and Naseem Gul, residents of Naway Kalay and Zawaki Banda in Kohat, respectively. The police stopped a car near Kohat Friendship tunnel and during search recovered 14 kilogrammes of hashish from it. A case has been filed against Naveed Khan, Idrees, Mohammad Ayub, Ameer Nawaz and Naimatullah, all residents of Kajori, Khyber Agency.-Correspondent
