SHIKARPUR: Two brothers were gunned down by armed men believed to be belonging to their rival tribe near Dodo village on Sukkur-Shikarpur section of the National Highway within the jurisdiction of Jahan Khan police station on Wednesday morning.

SHO of Jahan Khan, Sajjad Akbar, said thebrothers identified as Gul Mohammad Kehar, 40, and Mohammad Khan Kehar, 45, were going to their village, Sultankot, on a motorcycle when unidentified armed men ambushed them. The attackers fired indiscriminately on them, killing them on the spot before running away, said the official. He said themotive behind the double murder appeared to be an old running dispute between Shar and Kehar tribesmen over the ownership of a piece of land.

Police shifted the bodies to Laki taluka hospital for post mortem, after which they were handed over relatives for burial.-Correspondent
