Bees attack schoolchildren

TOBA TEK ISNGH: Two dozen schoolchildren were attacked by bees at the Government Primary School No-5, Raja Park, on the Gojra Road on Thursday.

Parents told the reporters there was a big hive of bees in a mulberry tree in the school ground. Its bees attacked the minor girls and boys of the school.

Sadagat Ali, father of an affected girl, said someone had obtained honey from the hive some days ago.

He said a part of hive fell on the children which led to the bees`attack on them.

The bees stung about two dozen children and of them more than one dozen and some teachers were shifted by the Rescue 1122 staff to the district headquarters (DHQ) hospital for first aid.

District Coordination Officer Amer Ijaz Akbar also visited the school and met the affected children, their parents and teachers.

KILLED: A man allegedly killed his wife at Gojra over a domestic dispute.

Muhammad Boota of Chak 518GB reported to Gojra Sadar police that his sister Razia Bibi and her husband Ashfag exchanged harshwords over some domestic issue after which Ashfaq administered poison to his sister which killed her.

Police have registered case and have shifted to body to THQ hospital for autopsy.

ROBBED: A bus was robbed in the Gojra area at night.

Passengers said when their Lahore-Gojra bus reached near Sem Nullah of Chak 92-JB, robbers stopped it at gunpoint and snatched cash, golden ornaments, mobile phones and other valuables from the passengers and bus staff.

A few days ago the same bus was also looted by the dacolts in the same area.
