Spelling Bee contest ends

HYDERABAD: The 12th `Dawn in Education National Spelling Bee` contest among teams of 30 private and public schools, situated in the interior of Sindh, concluded here on Saturday.

Dawn Media Group organised the competition in partnership withDawnNews and CityFM89in the Mumtaz Mirza auditorium at Sindh Museum.Over 300 students of the schools, as well as their parents, teachers, attended the programme with keen interest. The participating schools are situated in Dadu, Tando Allahyar, Thatta, Jamshoro, Shaheed Benazirabad, Badin, Matiari and some other districts.

Students of the schools situated in Hyderabad district had participated in the contest on Friday.

The contest was judged by Hyderabad division information director Khurshid Ali Shaikh and the results were announced by Momin Zafar.

The contestants were divided into three age groups 15-17, 12-14 and 9-11. These three pools bristled with their separate two rounds.

Students of Sargodian Spirit Trust Public School, Rasheedabad,TandoAllahyar; Perfect School System, Boys branch, Thatta; and IBA Community College, Dadu, were declared winners and were awarded certificates.
