BUNER: Unknown assailants shot dead an official of the bomb disposal unit in Gogai Kanda area of Buner here on Tuesday morning.

The deceased, Nasir Khan, was going to duty in Daggar from his native town of Shalbandai on his motorbike when unknown assailants opened fire on him near Gogai Kanda, killing him on the spot.

The attackers managed to escape after the incident. His body was taken to DHQ hospital, Daggar, and after autopsy handed over to family. Later, his funeral prayers were held in Shalbandai which were attended by a large number of people.

The police, after registering an FIR against unknown assailants, conduct a search operation for arrest of the killers. However, no one was arrested till filing of this report. — Correspondent
