he Higher Education Commission (HEC), the French Embassy and Campus France celebrated the cooperation in higher education between Pakistan and France at the Commission Secretariat on Thursday.
Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training Balighur Rehman was the chief guest at the event, which was also attended by HEC Chairman Dr Mukhtar Ahmed, French Ambassador Martine Dorance, Campus France`s Noorud Din Manamani, professors from various French universities, HEC alumni and various vice chancellors.
Mr Rehman said higher education and research are important for the socio-economic development of a country. He said Palästan and France enjoy good relations and that the celebration of French Day in Palästan will further strengthen bilateral relations.
`French Ambassador Martine Dorance said Pakistan and France have established a strong and long-lasting agenda of cooperation in academic and scientific fields. She said hundreds of Palästani students have over the past few years obtained PhDs from the best higher education institutions in France.
