LAHORE: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested a member of banned outfit Lashkar-i-Jhangvi (LeJ) in Gujaranwala, says a spokesman for the CTD.

A militant hurled a hand grenade at them near Chowk Pul Ferozewala Bypass in Gujaranwala. The officials remained safe and after a brief chase, they arrested him, identified as Walayat, alias Kashi. He said officials seized two more hand grenades from him. The accused had been challaned in sectarian killings, including the murder of magistrate Fida Hussain Shah and advocate Ejaz Rasoolnagri.
